Alvin Lavergne, Jr. was born August 21, 1960 to Alvin Lavergne Sr, who preceded him in death, and Irene Tinnie-Lavergne. During the 1960's, his father and mother divorced and Irene moved to Detroit, Michigan.
As a youth, Alvin went to school and helped his mother with his younger siblings while she worked to support the family. In 1978 Alvin graduated from Redford High School in Detroit, and later began working at Art center Hospital, where he remained for over 15 years. His final job was with Lakeside Transportation, where he was a driver and mechanic.
Alvin was the type of man that made and maintained friendships without effort. He was the type of man that could turn a negative situation into a positive one, just bu saying something funny. He was a very genuine person that loved life and loved his family. He was the type of man that would tell a friend or family member, "if I got it, you got it".
Alvin is survived by his three children; Alvin III (Little Alvin), Alphonse and Alexis; his devoted mother Irene; one step daughter Faith; three brothers, Kenzie, Levell, and Nedrin; one sister, Inene; two sister-in-laws, Lisa and Ta'i and a host of loving uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
