Dr. Annie Bell Wright was born on September 4, 1930 in Canton, Mississippi to Leonard Travis and Maggie Yeager. She graduated from Mississippi Public School and was an exceptional student who graduated with honors.
Dr. Wright moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1969. She was a hard working woman, who managed to raise eight children, work, and continue her education where she received a Doctor of Divinity from Detroit Bible College. After completing her education at Detroit Bible College, she became the Founder and Minister of Spiritual Temple of Faith Church.
Dr. Wright has a passion for the ministry and exemplified a strong character, and compassion for struggles and concerns of others.
She fed the hungry, provided counseling, ministered to the sick and shut in and provided financial assistance to others. She believed in giving help as needed.
In addition to being a minister, Annie was know for good southern cooking and worked as a Chef at Howard Johnson and a number of other restaurants.
We are blessed to have learned many valuable lessons from her. She was a Strong Woman, who instilled in her Children to treasure the beauty in everyone and everything and celebrate life while you are living. She taught the importance of getting an Education; Developing Strong Work Skills; Being Responsible and always asking God for Guidance and Protection.
Annie was preceded in death by her children, James Earl Travis, Gwendlynette Dobson-Hemingway and Dianna Sneed, and Grandson, Ernest Dimitrius Travis.
She leaves behind her sister, Daisy Travis Spencer (Eugene); her children, Gloria Baker (James), Linda Abner, Alonzo Travis, Ricky Travis (Morena) and Michael Dobson; grandchildren, Latonya, Matthew, Alvin, Ricky Jr., Khomaria, Elijah, Darrell,Mark, Taylor, David Jr., Diamond, Destiny, Ophelia, and Pamela; great grandchildren, Percy Dee, Joshua, Isiah, Seana, Matthew Jr. Amiere and Tristan, Along with a number of other relatives, extended family and friends
