My Dearest Mother was born Barbara Annette Jarrett to parents Daniel and Herietta Jarrett (RIP) in Detroit, Michigan.
March 6, 1944 Marks mom's earth day. she was the oldest of 14 siblings: Daniel, Jr., Douglas Benjamin, Luella and Rosemary Jarrett (all whom preceded her in death) R.I.P. as well as Keith, Kelvin, Dwayne, Dwight, Rebecca, Trudy, Yvonne and Collette Jarrett who are still with us.
Barbara along with her lifelong sweetheart, partner in crime and and love of her life Edward Stitt (R.I.P.) joined to create a family of their own who are Darryl L. Stitt (R.I.P.), Velicia Mackey (R.I.P.), Dennis L. Stitt and Donald E. Stitt. Adding strength to the family connection are daughters-in-laws Edith Stitt and Hope Stitt. They along with more supporting cast members gave Barbara one of her many eminent joys which was being grandma to Maria, Lamont and Derrick Stitt; Michael, Marcus and Mario Mackey; and Braden, Brooklyn and Briley Stitt. She was also great-grandma to Edward, Jeremiah, Matique Angel, Montanez and Nazae Taylor, Arianna and Styles Stitt knew Barbara as great-great-grandma.
For many years Barbara worked in the mortgage industry gathering along the way, many close friends and extended family members in the process. She went on with that until the calling home of her only true love, my father Edward. And while battling through sickness herself. Strong as she was, she shook it off and continues her fight only this time, in California for the next years until her death on June 4, 2013.
My mother touched and influenced so many lives in the very little time that she was with us, from the family, to her friends and fellow church members, that she will be cherished by and missed forever.
We all love you Barbara A. Stitt.
May God keep you and may you rest in peace.
