Her Story

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Beatrice (Bea) A. Griffin who departed this life on April 20, 2025.  Born in Augusta, GA to the late Henry and Ettie O'Bryant were two children Beatrice and Lawrence, who proceeded her in death.  In 1951 the family moved to Detroit, Michigan where she attended Detroit Public School and graduated.  In 1963 a daughter was born to Beatrice (Dawn).

Bea was friendly, helpful and loving.  She accepted Christ at a early age, and attended 12th Street Baptist Church.  Bea's loving nature took her to Bi-County Hospital and Henry Ford Health System for 30+ years.  During this time she met the love of her life Johnnie Griffin and in 1992 they were joined in marriage.  In the coming year they joined Palestine Missionary Baptist Church.  Bea was very active in the church until her health declined.

She leaves to mourn her loving husband, Johnnie Griffin, her loving daughter, Dawn, Grandchildren Kenyetta O'Bryant, Katalia Moton, Kale O'Bryant (Brittany).  Ke'rryl O'Bryant, Kya O'Bryant.  Great-Grandchildren, Kiara, Jamario, Kyeisha (Kenyetta).  Kali, Khloe, Jonyece (Kale).  Kalei, JC (Katalia).  Messiah (Ke'rryl).  Great-Great-Grandchild.  Yavonna (Jonyece) and a host of family and friends.
