Funeral Service: December 28, 2012 in the Chapel of Stinson Funeral Home 11;00 P.M. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery.

Booker Travis Johnson was born to the union of Claude Stennis and beatrice Johnson, in Walnut Grove, Mississippi. He is preceded in death by his parents Claude Stennis and Beatrice Johnson-sharp; six sisters Marjorie McClendon, Melvia Clark, Claudine Gibbs, Glennie Hunter, Deloris Ramsay, and Gloria Shabazz; his daughter, Cornelia Mauldin, and one grandson Richard Travis Marshall.

Booker Travis Johnson was a lovingly known as Booker T. to family and friends. He moved to Detroit, MI where he met and married Ruth Parham. born to this union were three children; Cornelia Mauldin, Travis Johnson and Cleveland Monroe. He was employed as a Detroit Public school bus driver wher he worked until he retired.

Booker T. Johnson served his country during World War II in the Army and received a honorable discharge. He loved being with people, taking pictures and traveling to see friends and family. He never met a stranger. He would engage in conversation anythime he was with other poeple. He loved the life he found in meeting people everywhere he went. He loved young people and encouraged them to follow their dremas. He enjoyed going to the casino because it is filled with life.

Booker T. Jonson leaves to cherish his memory two brothers; Robert Ellis (Mary) Stennis of Indianapolis, IN and Billy (Babette) Stennis of Milwaukee, WI; two sisters, Dorothy Peppers of Laurel, MS and Lenola (Arnold Lizana of Gulf Port, MS; two sons-in-laws Brooks Mauldin and Billie Marshall; three grandchildren, Bill (LaRhonda) Marshall, Brooks Mauldin, and Kelly Johnson; 7 great grandchildren; 16 nieces and nephews; 46 great-nieces and nephews; 117 great-great nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
