Casanava (Cass) Hudson, son of the late Sandy and Henrietta Hudson was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois on April 29, 1946. Cass departed this life at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit on February 11, 2014.

He completed his secondary education at the Shiloh 7th Day Adventist Academy in Chicago. After high school, he proudly served in the US Army. He went on to further his education at Oakwood University, a historically black 7th Day Adventist Institution in Huntsville, Alabama. He later continued his education at Julliard School of Music where he enhanced his existing music talent.

Cass bled music. He was introduced to the world of music at an early age. Little did he know it would become the blood that flow through his veins. He took various music classes, sang in several choirs, and as a teenager appeared on television directing the Philharmonic Coir. He performed in concert with some of the greatest gospel artist of his time. He was known for is talent and Gospel recording artist with two of his  albums titled "He Touched Me" and "Through It All." These two albums served as representations of his personal testimony. He was a dramatic Tenor, performing in many Opera's including Porgy & Bess. He was a well known around the cities of Chicago, and Detroit for his vocal gift and was a highly sought after soloist. Cass was passionate about music and wanted to share his passion with the Detroit youth. For this purpose the Detroit Children's Choir and youth Chorale (DCCYC) was birthed. Detroit you were exposed to plethora of opportunities that otherwise would not have been afforded to them.

Cass worked as a vocal music teacher in both the Chicago and Detroit Public Schools. He was Minister of Music at Hartford Memorial Baptist Church (Rev. Charles G. Adams) and Original New Grace Missionary Baptist Church (Rev. Loyce Lester). He founded the Agape Ministries which later became the Agape 7th Day Adventist Ministries.

Cass loved helping and didn't mind sacrificing to meet the needs of others. He loved the Lord and singing "good gospel music". He was publicly set apart and ordained to the work of the Gospel Ministry by the order of the Hartford Church. Cass professed his love for the Lord until the moment He called him home.

Cass biologically fathered four children but affectionately became spiritual father to many. His kind heart will be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched. He leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters, Cassandra Hudson-Johnson, Sasha Hudson, and Alex-Saundra Hudson; two grand-daughters, Vanessa Hudson and Alexyss Johnson; three sisters, Sandra (James) Butler, Rosemary (Franklin) Peart, and Cynthia Hudson; three brother, Errol (Mary) Hudson, Lloyd Hudson, and John Hudson; close friend and caregiver, Tommy Williams; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Sandy and Henrietta Hudson, son Ulysses Hudson, and brother Lon (Carolyn) Hudson
