Viewing Monday February 6, 2012 from 1PM until 8PM at the Stinson Northwest Chapel Located at 16540 Meyers Road at the John Lodge Fwy. Funeral Services will be Tuesday in the Chapel at 12 Noon with a 11AM Family Hour.

Interment: Elmwood Cemetery.

Damani Robinson was born on June 27, 1975, in Detroit, Michigan, to Karol Lee Johnson. He was the oldest of four children with a brother, Charlie Robinson IV, and two sisters, Niamba Baraka Robinson, whom pereceded him in death, and Ashlyn Nicole Higgins.

Damani graduated from Osborn High school and received a degree from Specs Howard School of Media Arts. He worked as a Replay Operator for Detroit Lions, Tigers, Red Wings, University of Michigan, and Fox Sports. Damani also founded Detroit Rap TV, a local access cable show that gives exposure to local area artist and independent labels in his hometown.

Damani was a loving, caring, gentle person who touched many lives. He was a family man who also enjoyed traveling, entertaining, and playing basketball. He took pleasure in coaching his children in various sports. He loved life and laughter.

He met the love of his life and was united in holy matrimony on November 26, 2004. From that union, a son, Damani Amir Robinson was born. Damini and his wife just recently celebrated their seven year anniversary in Jamaica. He was so happy.

On Monday, January 30, 2012, Damani Robinson, husband, father, son and brother, passed away suddenly at the age of 36 years. Damani will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend, Valencia; their children, Damani, Vonsia and Raven; his parents, Charlie Robinson III (Karen) and Karol Pelton; stepdad, Glen Pelton; brother, Charlie Robinson IV; sister, Ashlyn Higgins (Steve and Serenity). Damani will also be forever remembered by his maternal grandmother, Mildred Johnson; paternal grandmother, Earleen Robinson-Nelson; aunts, Linda Frances and Nancy Johnson; uncles, Karl Johnson and Ricardo Robinson; niece, Laila Robinson; cousin, Kelilisha Johnson; and a host of family and dear friends.
