Today we celebrate the life of Dariel Cordelia Long affectionately called "Sis". She was born to the union of John and Edna Blanks on May 25, 1931. in Dedtroit, Michigan. She was the only girl of four children. Her brothers spoiled and protected her.
Dariel received her formal education in the Detroit Public School system and graduated from Pershing High School.
Dariel was united in holy matrimony to Clyde Long in 1953. To this union one son was born, Clyde Long, Jr.
Dariel had several jobs working as a clerk and typist for boththe State of Michigan and Detroit Public School system.
Dariel and her family relocated to Idaho, where they had a ranch and she became a farmer's wife. They lived in Idaho for 25 years. She returned to work and was employed by the Idaho School system.
Dariel returned to Detroit after the death of her husband. She found old friends and begana new life. She joined several activities, bowling and Bible Class. She began to read her Bible daily.
After an accident at her place of residence, Dariel made her transition on March 5, 2013. She leaves to cherish sweet memories; one grandson, Deion Long; one great-granddaughter, Mahlon Long; one brother, Clyde Blanks; three brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edna Blanks; and two brothers, John and Richard.
