MY STORY

My name is Diamond DeShawn Morgan. I was born on December 19, 1990 to Lavonn Jones and William Morgan. I made my transition on October 10, 2015 at 11:46 pm at home.

In my early formative tears I lived on the eastside, I am a "Maxwell Kid". Early in life I discovered I had a knack for coloring and early reading...thus I became part of the gifted and talented program. Tragedy befell my mother causing me to move to the west-side soon after I learned of my Indian Heritage and began to travel quite a bit with my father and my grandmother Lorraine.

I pursued a career in the music industry... I wrote many playas, songs and even a poem. I was blessed with my poem to be published... titled "The Real Me". I won 2nd place in a talent show with my rapping and even traveled to Chicago with my best friend to audition in a producers talent show.

At the age of thirteen (13) years I became ill with kidney failure. life became difficult for me as I had to receive dialysis three times a week, but I kept a straight face and continued on with life.

I was fortunate to meet many wonderful people. One of my fondest memories was meeting Omarion, Pretty Ricky, and Kale. Who would have
thought?...but was fortunate enough to sit in the VIP section at Omarion's concert.

I was so blessed to have gained so many new friends and extended family members from my many trips in and out of the hospital. The doctors, nurses and aides did all that they could in order to make life as pleasant as possible. I am eternally grateful to the staff on 4-East on Sinai Grace Hospital...they were truly my guardian angels. Their love and attention to my every need was unconditional.

My time on earth has come to a close so I can now spend time with my mommy in eternity. Don't mourn but cherish fond memories instead.

Those I leave behind are my grandmother Lorraine (who traveled every road and climbed every mountain with the promise we would be together again); my father William Morgan; Grandmother Joann Jones; Step-Mother Sylvia Gilliam; Step-father Michael Hooks; Godmother Dora Brooks; siblings: Javon, Yasmine, DeShawn and Wiloiam; Godson Kyan Callen; a host of other relatives and friends.

May God Bless All Of You, It Is My Time To Rest
