January 9, 1961 – July 5, 2023
Eddie Lee Alexander Jr. was born January 9, 1961, in Columbus, Georgia, the second born to Eddie Lee and Genine (Randall) Alexander who preceded him in death. He was affectionately known as "Bubba" and accepted Christ at an early age. Eddie was an active member at St. Mathew's and St. Joseph's Episcopal Church.
Eddie helped operate the family business, which included community carnivals, ice cream trucks, and donut shops alongside his brother, Troy. Eddie graduated from Highland Park High School, class of 1979. He attended Northwood University majoring in Business Management.
In 1989, Eddie married Patricia White and this union brought forth two children: India and Edward. He was a VERY active dad in their lives, and PRESENT at every milestone. Eddie loved his children!!! Eddie always said, "They will never want for anything".
Upon graduation Eddie worked in several Management and Customer Service positions. After 25 plus years, he retired from Detroit Diesel. Eddie was known as "Mr. Diesel" and he attended many family events, wearing his Detroit Diesel uniform.
Many years Eddie wrestled under the George Cannon Canadian Wrestling network. He also participated in matches with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), American Wrestling Alliance (AWA) under the management of Al Costello the fabulous Kangaroo, Ricky Cortez,and Iron Mike Shark. His biggest match was with Big John Stud in Maple Leaf Garden in Toronto, Ontario. He was part of the Harlem Destroyer tag team with his brother Troy (aka Destroyer) and Eddie (aka Bubba Hawkins). In addition, he was a personal bodyguard for many celebrities; Prince, and Luther Vandross to name a few.
Eddie loved life!! He enjoyed the luxury of driving the Cadillac brand and going to many casinos in Detroit and Las Vegas. He also enjoyed cooking and baking (sweet potato pies).
Eddie was known as Mr. Home Depot (a jack of all trades "The Rigger"). He enjoyed music, especially the Whispers, comedy concerts, and people watching.
Eddie Lee Alexander leaves to cherish his loving memory, his two children: India Alexander Black (William), Edward, (mother Patricia Alexander).
Siblings: Frencheel (Anthony) Campbell, Troy Alexander, Delando Alexander, Shaun Alexander, Voncile (Jshvion) Perry (mother Genine), James Ware, Shatiki (Charles) Withers, Quintin (Gwen) Ware, Charlene (Myron) Kemp, Elvis Ware (mother Effie), a host of nieces and nephews, and a special friend Cathy Reid.
