God blessed her with two wonderful daughters, Tranella Ann and Dorothy Lucille, who also preceded her in death.
Emma was educated in Alabama Public Schools and later moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1956 where she obtained obtained employment as a Housekeeper. Emma later worked as a Presser in the laundry service industry until her retirement. Later, after arriving in Detroit, Emma made her confession of faith and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at Macedonia Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Elder Dennis Edwards. Later, Macedonia C.O.G.I.C. became True Light Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C., and True Light became The Way of Holiness C.O.G.I.C. where Emma served faithfully and continuously until her death as the Senior Church Mother.

Mother Williams was constant in her prayer life and was officially appointed as a Prayer Warrior by Pastor Marvin Lucas. Mother Williams honored her role as Church Mother with devotion, discipline, and dedication as she was often found praying, reading and studying her favorite book; The Holy Bible, or serving homemade ice cream and fried chicken to the saints in between church services.
T-Mattie loved to read, literally, any book she could put her hands on, and with a sharp mind and quick wit, Her sense of humor was a joyfully hilarious experience in itself. With off-beat catch phrases like "Whoa! Jack-Mo, heave!"and "I got the deer, Ike!", T-Mattie sent hearty laughter into the lives of friends and family.
