George Brogdon was born January 14, 1944 to George and Willie Lee Brogdon. He was the second of four children and was affectionalely called Poonie by his family.

George was educated in the Detroit Public School System.
He served in the United States Army for ten years and seven months. While in the Army, he performed equipment storage and clerical duties. He was honorably discharged on April 1, 1974.

George had a passion for drawing. When he saw a blank sheet of paper, he would draw on it. He even drew a picture on the back of our dad's Army discharge paper (it was blank). He also enjoyed playing his keyboaard, listening to oldies but goodies and dancing. He would repair items around the house and willingly did so for family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his parents, George and Willie Lee; sister Gloria; brother, Michael (Carrie) of Detroit,MI; son George E. (Wendy); four grandchildren, Tanisha (Adam), Ernie, Frankie and Anthony; four great-grandchildren, Tristen, Landon, Alex and Hailey, all of Denton, TX; and other relatives and friends.
