Memorial Service to be held Monday, March 13, 2014 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Stinson Funeral Home 16540 Meyers at the John Lodge Fwy in Detroit, Michigan

Her Journey
Gwendolyn Davidson was born to the late Isaac and Lillie Shipp on March 6, 1950 in Memphis, TN. She was the third of six children. Gwen was married to John Lenox Davidson, no children were born to thus union. :Gwen" as she was affectionately called by family and friends, graduating from Ecorse High School in 1968.  She went on to pursue a diploma from Cambridge Business School where she graduated with honors.

She was employed in various positions, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Focus Hope, Detroit Public, and last employed with Greek Town Casino.

Gwen accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior as a young adult under the leadership of Bishop William Bonner of Solomon's Temple. She was a member of Mt. Zion New Covenant Baptist Church, where Bishop Charles Middleton Sr. and Pastor Charles Middleton, Jr. preside. Here she was involved with the The World Outreach Ministry.

God gifted her with many creative talents, which included sigh language, drawing, knitting, gift cards, but mostly known for her "Faceless Beauty" dolls.  She loved people and was especially fond of children.

Gewn's homegoing to heaven was on March 6, 2014. She leaves to cherish: four sisters, Lavern (Ted) Baldwin of Detroit, MI, Barbara (James) Spencer, of Warren, MI, Mattie (Willis) McNeal, Berea, Ohio; JoAnn Shipp, of Detroit, MI and one brother Charles Shipp, Of Detroit, MI and a host of nephews, nieces, other relative and friends
