Viewing Friday Februay 15, 2013 from 3PM until 8PM from the Northwest Chapel of the Stinson Funeral Home Located 16540 Meyers Road at the John Lodge Fwy. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 11:30 in the Chapel of the Funeral Home. Family Hours is 11AM. Final Disposition of the Remains is Cremation.

James Ross, Sr. was born August 4, 1943 to the union of the late George Ross, sr. and Lizzie Mae (Lewis) Ross, the eleventh of twelve children. He was born in Granada, Mississippi and relocated to Michigan in 1969.

James accepted Christ as his personal savior at a early age. In the year 1962 James married the love of his life, Eula M. Mitchell and they remained married for fifty years. James loved his family deeply and was always concerned about their wellbeing and that of his friends. He loved reminiscing about growing up with his siblings and the good times they shared.

He loved playing with his grandchildren, laughing and cracking jokes with everyone. He would always remind his children of the things they did while they grew up...whether the were good or bad, he never let them forget.

James was a great cook, and had a love for cars. He would fix almost anything or tell you how to fix it. He was a jack of all trades.

James departed his life on earth Thursday, February 7, 2013. He was preceded in death by three sisters; Mary Ross, Estelle Johnson, Ada Taylor and Four brothers; George Ross, Jr. Abe Ross, Edward Ross and Johnny Ross.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his loving wife, Eula Ross; Six children: Brenda (Glenn) English, Kim Clark, Janet Ross, James Ross, Jr., Marc (Nikita) Ross, Laresha Thurman; Twenty-one grandchildren, Nine great grandchildren; Three brothers, William Ross of Starksville, Mississippi, Charles (Bettie) Ross of Bellwood, Illinois; One sister, Martha Marie (Willie) Fields and a host of nieces, newhews, cousins family and friends.
