Viewing Friday October 26, 2012 1PM until 8PM at the Stinson Northwest Chapel located 16540 Meyers Road at the John Lodge Fwy. Funeral Services will be held from the Chapel of the Funeral Home on Saturday at 1100AM. Family Hour is 10:30AM. Final Disposition of the Remains is Cremation.
Joseph samuels was born on May 16, 1936 in Anderson, South Carolina. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Twin Oaks, Pennsylvania. He received his education in the Twin Oaks, Pennsylvania public school system. Joseph accepted Christ at a early age and became a member of the Mt. Plesant Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. D.D. Richardson.
Joseph served in the u.S, Navy from 1955-1958 and he received a National Defense Medal for his excellent service. After his military experience he moved to Detroit, Michigab and became employed with the Chrysler Corporation where her served 28 and !/2 years.
Joseph loved to be surrounded by family and friends, entertaining with cookouts and crazy humor, Simply put, he manifest caring and generously sharing. He had a heart of gold and a zestfor life.
Joseph has a number of hobbies including cooking, gardening, home remodldeling, and watching westernand classic movies on television. He also enjoyed listerning to country music and sometimes would wear the attire, cowboy boots and hat. His favorite sport was baseball and his favorite team was the Atlanta Braves.
When his health began to fail, he fought a courageous battle and never complained abouthis afflictions. Simply put, he manifested caring and generously sharing. He had a heart of gold and a real zest for life. Joseph departed this life Friday, October 12, 2012. Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife.
To cherish his memory are two children, Joseph Michael Samuels (Yakima) and Michelle Ellease Samuels; four grandchildren, China Danjelo Samuels, Christopher Samuels, and Lauryn Rodgers; a devoted caregiver, Patricia Terrell and a host of admiring relatives and friends
