Kathleen Bernice Flowers was born October 14, 1940 in Gary, Georgia to the union of Alonzo and Ammie Flowers. She was the oldest of their eight children. When she was a young child, her parents made the decision to move to Detroit, Michigan, which became her home.
Soon after graduating from Hamtramck High School, She married Ennie Ree Goynes, and to this union four children were born ,Kathleen and Ennie Ree were married for 38 years.
After being a homemaker for many years, Kathleen enjoyed everyday that she worked at Chase Bank where she retired after thirteen years of service.
She was a nice lady that made each person she met feel like a special friend, or close family. Everyone looked forward to her warm smile, felt better after she hugged them, and appreciated her wise works. She reveled any time spent with her family and friends, and a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister , aunt, grandmother, and friend.
Early Thursday morning, April 23, 2015, surrounded by her children at home, The Lord gently called her from labor to reward.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, two brothers Alonza and Melvin Flowers.
We thank God for sharing Katheen with us. We celebrate her life and thank the Lord for blessing us with her unconditional Love, consistent concern, and genuine kindness.
Kathleen leaves to celebrate her life. four children: Angela Michell, Mark (Yvette), Kelly (Jennifer),and Birdie; one stepson, Eddie Ray, three grandchildren; Mya, Britney, and Tre', one great-granddaughter, Alysa; two sisters, Amy Claudine Flowers and Sallie Sanders; three brothers, WIllie Roy (Faye) Flowers, Joseph Flowers, and Donald (Cheryl) Flowers, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and church family, all whom loved her dearly.
