Larry James Anderson was born November 10,1951 in Highland Park, Michigan to the late Jesse and Norma Anderson. He was the second of nine children. His older sister and best friend DeLinda, brother "Baby Boy" and first wife Rita Anderson preceded him death.
Larry spent his early years attending Bera Methodist Church where he and DeLinda took part in many church activities; with the most memorable being participants in a "Tom Thumb" wedding.
Larry aka "LA" was educated in the Highland Park School System. After graduation he worked as a chef at the Holiday Inn, The Highland Park Recreation Dept., and retiring in 2009 from Highland Park School System after working many years in maintenanace and security.
"LA" loved sports his favorite being football and baseball. He played softball for "The Avenue", a Highland Park team of friends since childhood. Larry often debated and engaged with others as to who was the best basketball players that came from Michigan; particular the men that played during the late 60's and early 70's; Eric Money, Campy Russell, Terry Furlow, Tony Smith, George Gervin and Mike Robinson just name a few.
"LA" had a comedic personality, a generous heart and would give his last to help others. Larry was considered a "cool guy"; carrying a special love for his family and friends. A Parker do or die! (Once a Parker always a Parker).He had a passion for cooking and barbequeing thinking he was the "Best" at it all.
Larry leaves to cherish his memory; his wife Regina; whom he met in 1997, and joined in marriage in 2005. they were fishing buddies, loved cooking together and taking day trips. Her fondest memory of him would be of him singing his favorite Temptation song "Lady Soul" at any moment, telling her "You Know I Could Have Been A Temptation".
His thirteen children Larry(Danna), Lance, LaRitta (David), LaMarr, Jamar, Jasmine, Lawrence, LaMarcus, Keith, Mario< Harvey< Reggie and Ikea; Thirty grandchildren affectionally known by them as "Poppy". Three sisters, Suzette (Kerry), Pam(Howard), and Paula(Michael), Three brothers, Gerald(Lisa), Ben and Jason (LaShawda). Two uncles Edward (Alma) and Donald Greer, in-laws Lucius and Shirley Griffieth, a host of nieces , nephews other relatives and friends.
