Memorial Services will be Held Monday October 15, 2012 at 11AM at the Stinson Northwest Chapel at located 16540 Meyers Road at the John Lodge Fwy. Final Disposition of the Remains is Cremation.
A blessing from the begining, Lovie (Whitehead) Shipp was born December 16, 1927 to Lucy Whitefead in West, Mississippi. Lovie accepted Christ at West Baptist Church in West, Mississippi. In 1943 Lovie married Feodies Shipp, Sr. To this union 6 children were born. Feodies, J. 1946, Lorrettie 1948, Dennis 1949, Sandra 1950, Barbara 1958 and Tammy 1960. Lovie and Feodies moved from West, Mississippi to San Diego, California, Illinois and finally to Detroit, Michigan in the early part of 1950.
Lovie could cook anything you requested all without ever looking at a cookbook. Not to say she didn't read them because she had many, but in the kitchen all she needed were the ingredients. Lovie mastere many skills over the years from dedicated house wife and mother to sewing and gardening. Lovie loved her house plants and even passed her green thumb down to her grandchildren. Of all the jobs and titles Lovie has held the one she loved the most was being a mother. Taking care of her family was the most important thing to her. On October 9th 2012 The Lord called Lovie home to glory.
Lovie is preceded in death by her mother Lucy, brother, Charles Hohnson, her children, Lorrettie (1985), Feodies, Jr. (1992), Dennis (1995) and Sandra (2008)
Lovie leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory, daughters, Barbara and Tammy, grandchildren: Dennis, Kenny, Sean, Andre, Martin Martin, Larry, Feodies III, Isaac, Jr, Lorettie, Christina, Samantha, Noel, great grandchildren; Danielle, Shalonda, Amir, Mary, Brance, Karon, and Hollis, Lovie also leaves to cherish her memory a host of relatives, extended family and long time friends
