Martha Raye (George) Lee was born to Lerotha and Casey George on June 29, 1943 in Mattson, Mississippi. She was the fourth of seven children.

Her mother, Lerotha, husband John Lee, sister Annistene, brother Ellis , great granddaughter Regina and great great granddaughter Deliah preceded her in death.

Martha attended Dublin Elementary School and graduated the eighth grade. However, she later went back to school and received her high school diploma.

Martha was the mother of four children; one son, John Lee of Detroit, Michigan who cared for her during and before her illness and after Mary Gray and (Kenneth)of Detroit, who cared for Martha; Debra Robinson (Mark), and Laverne, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Martha got to love and know the Lord at an early age. She was a devoted and dedicated mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, to all who knew her.

She was a Usher for many years at Hebrew Baptist Church and was also a secretary. She later moved to Detroit, Michigan and became the Mother of Good Shepherd Baptist Church where she was faithful and loyal until her health failed.

Martha had a unique sense of humor that grew. Everyone she came in contact with loved her. She enjoyed caring for others, cooking singing, dancing, and was just a breath of fresh air.

On May 24, 1961, she met the love of her life, John Lee, Jr. They united in marraige and they were very happy. Martha referred to her husband as her "Boo". She was a faithful wife and they were together forty-eight years until his death in 2009.

Martha leaves to mourn her children; son John Lee of Detroit, MI three daughters, Mary Gray (Kenneth), Debra Robinson (Mark) and Laverne of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. four brothers: Riley George of Clarksdale, Mississippi; Freddy, Lee and Cazsey George, Jr. all of Detroit, MI; her father, Casey George of Oklahoma City, OK; teo granddaughters; Sharin Lee of Detroit, and Tiffany Johnson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, two grandsons; Kenneth Gray and Edward Johnson (Abagail); one great great granddaughter, Gabriella; one greaat, great grandson, Joshua Johnson of Seattle, Washington; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
