Obituary

Michael Duane Huddleston entered this life on June 22, 1953 to Prince (dec) and Mineola Huddleston in Flint, Michigan. He was the eldest of three born to this union. Michael graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1971 continuing his studies at Eastern Michigan University.

Michael was employed by the State of Michigan at Northville State Hospital, where he met and married Janis. He later worked at the Center for Forensic Psychiatry, before retiring in 2015 as a Supervisor. After retirement, Michael became a full time travel enthusiast, enjoying floriculture and being with family and friends.

Michael was baptized at an early age while attending Canaan Baptist Church. He became a of the Original Church of God in Detroit, Michigan, known to be an active and faithful follower of Christ until his death. Michael served on the Deacon Board, was the Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School and printed the Sunday programs for the church. Over the years Michael touched many lives through the neighborhood witnessing program where he would walk up to strangers asking "Do you have a minute?"

On September 24, 1994 Michael was joined in holy matrimony to Janis Johnson. Michael was a devoted husband and professed his love for Janis with pride and humility. Michael was a devoted role model to his nieces, nephews and extended family assuring a seed was planted as he witnessed and prayed for them. Michael remained faithful to Christ's love. He touched countless lives along the way by being a living example of Christ's love. All who encountered Michael remembered at least four things: his sense of humor, his laughter, and his love for Christ and family.

Michael entered eternal life on Friday, February 15, 2019. He was preceded in death by his grandparents  and father, Prince Ruby Huddleston.

Michael leaves of cherish his memory his wife, Janis Huddleston; his mother Mineola Huddleston; his brother, Jerome (Villa) Huddleston; his sister Marilyn (Thomas, Jr.) Reeder of Memphis, TN; nephew Terrill (Merion) Huddleston; nieces, Tiffany Chevron Reeder, Jada Alexis Huddleston, his "Johnson family" Sheryl, Butch, Ardis, Blake, Kelo and Len as well as a host of nieces nephews, cousins and friends
