In the evening of February 16, 2013, Nora L. Hudson, age 778 prayerfully said, "Lord, I am so tired" and then told the Care Manager she was going to her apartment to lie down.
The Lord heard her and during her sleep, He held out His hand and invited her home. Nora too His hand, and she now sits at the right hand of God welcomed and surrounded by her family in a glorious plce, where she will enjoy eternal peace and reflect on a life well-lived, where she was loved by many and she walked in the service of the Lord.
Nora was born on November 16, 1934, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Willie Mae (Inman) and the ,late James Tucker.
Nora grew up in Detroit, Michigan. In 1950, she married her high school sweetheart, Booker Hudsson, Together they had two daughters, Veda and JooAnn. Although divorced in 1954, they remained friends. Booker preceded her in death on January 6, 2013.
Nora was employed with Chrysler Corporation and retired in 2006 after 30 years of service.
Nora leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Willie Mae Reed of Tampa, Florida; her daughter Veda Sharp (Kenneth) of Detroit, Nichigan; grandchildren, Bernard III, Bukika, Kenneth II, Kendall, Christian (Monique), Kayla, Kyle, and Mallory; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis Balkman of Tampa, Florida and Pamela Brown of Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina; aunt, Thelma Canady of Somerset, New Jersey; and nieces, other relatives, extended family and friends.
In addition to her father, Nora was also preceded in death by her grandmother, Ealia Hamilton; mother-in-law, Mae Hudson; brother, Cleveland Body (Delores); daughter, JoAnn Hudson-Tolliver; son-in-law, Louis Tolliver; aunt and uncle Emma and Peter Jackson; and her uncle, Joe Carter (Pat)
