O'Dell Jackson was born April 23, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan to father Eulogio Romero and mother Mary Romero who both preceded her in death. She was the sister of Edna Wells, Leo Romero and Alma Knox who all preceded her in death.
O'Dell attended Detroit Public Schools and became an Entrepreneur in her early 20's owning several business and properties throughout her life. O'Dell was initiated into the Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World in 91991 becoming a member of Nettie Carter Jackson Temple No 1179. She was elected Daughter ruler of the temple in 1995 where she served until 2003. She received her Past State Presidents Honors and became a member of the Silver Dollar Club. O'Dell was a fun and happy person who loved the Lord and her family. She loved to decorate making floral arrangements and center pieces for family events and the many affairs given by the Temple.
she was also a member of the State Flower department for many years. In 2014 the members of the Nettie Carter Jackson Temple No.1179 transferred to Florence Ames Temple No.17 where she continued to be a dutiful member until her health failed her.
O'Dell departed this life on April 18, 2017 leaving to mourn h: two granddaugters Dawnitta Evans (Tiki) and Duana Frazier; six great- grandchildren, Mario Frazier, Kyndel Justice, Keir Allen,Donovan Evans, Danyel Evans, and Kamora Allen; three great-great-grandchildren, Mario Frazier, Jr. Kooper Jacobson and Marie FRazier. She also leaves to mourn many nieces and nephews and dear friends
