Ruth Ann Davis Woods, the oldest child of Vernon and Maude (deceased) Davis, was born on January 5, 1942 in Richland, Georgia.
Ruth grew up on Polk Street, River Rouge then the family moved to Campbell Street, River Rouge. She attended Northrup Elementary School, graduating from River Rouge High School in June 1960. Ruth married Robert Woods in September 1962 and February 1965, they had their bundle of joy (son) Tracy Sean Woods.
Ruth was baptized at Gordy Memorial Church, River Rouge under the pastorship of Rev. Gordy Sr. (Ruth and brother Freddy). Later attending St. John A.M.E. Church River Rouge. While under the pastorship of Rev. Henning. She was Steward Pro-Tem, a position that she held fiercely and with utmost dedication.
Rush was employed at Sumby Memorial Hospital alongside her Mother and Auntie. She was employed at several other places eventfully ending AAA of Michigan that lasted over 30 years.
Ruth loved to communicate with her Lord-Jesus and talk to everybody about His goodness. Her love for her family was DEEPER than the sea; she would council with family and pray making the situation lighter. She truly loved her son Tracy and her grandsons Zachary and James constantly praying for and guiding them.
Leaving to remember Ruth eternally in our hearts: Tracy, Laverne, Kenny (Sandra), Lener, Vernon Davis, Zachary Woods, Leteria Driscoll, special cousin Louise Reid, special sisters Betty Woods and Loretta Mack, many cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors, church friends, and former work friends.
