Funeral Service held, Friday July 25, 2014 10:30 Memorial-11:00 Funeral at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church 1833 E. Electric St Detroit, Michigan.

Sylvester Lowe, Jr. was born on June 6, 1915 in Edwards, Mississippi to Sylvester and Pricilla Lowe. He was the third child born to them and had thirteen siblings.

Sylvester accepted Christ at an early age and later re-diedicated his life and was a member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church. "Jack" as he was affectionately called by his dad worked along side his dad on the family farm where he learned about agriculture, fishing and hunting wild game.

Slyvester joined the United States Army where he received numerous awards for his service and was honorably discharged in 1945. the goat "(Greatest of All Time)" to those who knew him best was employed with the Chrysler Corporation where he worked in machine repair until his retirement.

He joimed in holy matrimony the love of his life Nettie Lee Amos. They relocated to Detroit,Michigan where they were blessed with six children six children. Their marriage withstood the test of time for 53 years.

Slyvester was a great outdoorsman and truly enjoyed hunting wild game, such as pheasant, ducks, squirrels, rabbits, racoon and deer. After his retirement, he went fishing everyday on the Detroit River until the passing of his beloved wife. He enjoyed playing checkers and was hard to beat.

Syl, as he was called by his siblings, enjoyed watching baseball. He had a keen sense of humor and could always find something funny to laugh about. His favorite question was..."What's that?" He had a great love for music and enjoyed the Blues as well as R&B and some Country music.

Slyvester's culinary skills, especially the "wild game" he cooked during the holidays was enjoyed by family and friends all around the neighborhood. His bond and love for his family was evident in everything he did.He was very protective and supportive of his family, whether it was sitting on the front porch giving advice or working on his cars, you could always count on him. He had a very close and personal relationship with all the members of his famliy. He was a one-of-a-kind man, a great husband and awesome dad. He was always ready and willing to give a helping hand to whoever needed it.

Sylester made his transition from time to eternity on July 19,2014. He was preceded in death by: Slyvester Lowe,Sr.,Priscilla Lowe; his wife, Nettie Lee Lowe; his son Alfred Glen Lowe, Aldopus Lowe, Elbert Lowe, James Lowe, Harrison Lowe, Amy Lowe Lovin Robinson, Perry Lowe Steward, Pricilla Lowe Moore, Eddie Lowe, LaSal Lowe.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Slyvester Don Lowe, Joyce Lowe Edge, Steve Lowe, Gregg Lowe, Nick LOwe, Mahala Lowe Taylor, Odessa Lowe Elmore, Opsy Lowe Dorsey,and Jasper Lowe: daughters-in-law, 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews,nieces,aunts,uncles,cousins and friends.
