William Bruce Crawford
was born in Montgomery, Alabama November 8, 1930. He was an only child to Grace Crawford who preceded him in death. William was affectionately called "Billy" by his family and friends. William was educated in the Montgomery Education System. He attended Parker High School.
William Bruce Crawford
served in the army for two years, 1950-1952. When he was discharged fro the army he moved to Detroit, Michigan where he met Thelma Louise Hammett, he swept her off her feet and they were married in 1954. To this union
three children were born.
Alise Renee Smith-Jackson (deceased), Timothy Bruce Crawford (deceased) and Wilhelmenia Daniell Warren.
William
gained work experience through several jobs: Wilson Junior High, Chrysler Plant and Mercy College before obtaining a full-time position at Michigan Consolidated Gas Company until his retirement in 1993.
William
loved spending time with his grandchildren. He loved taking his grandsons to football practice. Everyone knew who he was, even the coach. He loved jazz, and the blues, fishing, bowling, baking, and collecting cons. He was a very sociable person. His hidden talent wa that he was an excellent artist which he did in his spare time.
