Viewing Wednesday April 4, 2012 from 1PM until 8PM at the Stinson Northwest Chapel located 16540 Meyers Road at the John Lodge Fwy. Funeral Services will be Thursday at 11AM in the Funeral Home with a 10:30AM Family Hour.

William James Grier was born May 5th, 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio.
He made his debut into this world as the second born child of Elmo and Jessie Grier.
His siblings include: Margaret Carson-Jackson, Emmett Grier (deceased) and Van Arnold Grier (deceased).

Later the Grier family moved to the historic community of "Paradise Valley" in Detroit, Michigan where he graduated from Miller High School.

As a teen he was involved in various sports; however, he had a true passion for boxing. He developed his skills at the Brewster Recreational Center which lead him to become the recepient of numerous metals and trophies.

As a young man he married Bernice Young and to this union a daughter was born Sidni Grier.

Years later he met his wife of 50 years Geraldine Gordon, lovingly known as "Geri or Dewie," She was the love of his life, his best friend and during the final days she was his devoted care giver and never left his side.

Bill enjoyed the finer things in life... including; traveling, golfing, horse-racing and spending time with his family. Although, Bill only has one child he was a loving Uncle and father to so many, Bill was a popular and charismatic gentleman with impeccable style and an infectious laugh.

Left to rejoice his loving memory are his devoted wife, Geraldine; one daughter, Sidni Jacobs; sister, Margaret Carson-Jackson (Walter); sister-in-law, Estelle; many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
